About Us
Meet Lisa & Liz, the two friendly faces behind Cheshire Clay Studios
A chance meeting at an Adult Education Pottery Course in 2016 set Liz Anspoks and Lisa Pritchard on an unexpected journey – one that led to the creation of Cheshire Clay Studios.
Neither Liz nor Lisa come from a formal ceramics background; instead, they share a deep passion for all things clay. Liz, with her scientific expertise, balanced her love for ceramics with her role in a major government agency until early 2025, when she finally answered the
call of clay full-time. Now, as Director of Operations, Liz oversees all the daily activities and management of the studio, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Lisa, on the other hand, brought years of experience from the private sector, having successfully run several businesses before planning a quiet retirement focused on pottery.
That plan quickly changed when an opportunity arose to set up a small studio space – an opportunity too exciting to pass up.
What began as a tiny studio has now flourished into a thriving 3,000 sq. ft. creative hub. Lisa leads the marketing and business development side of the studio, constantly expanding its offerings and community reach.
Today, Cheshire Clay Studios is home to a talented team of ceramic artists, some with formal degrees and others with a lifetime of professional experience in the ceramics industry. Together, they bring depth, expertise, and a shared love of pottery to students and artists of all levels.
Join us at Cheshire Clay Studios and be part of our growing creative community!
